Your children are invited to join Jocko valley Library's Summer Reading Program and attend the fun programs and events we are planning. This summer's theme, Dream Big-READ! is about all things nocturnal- dreams, stars and planets, bats, owls, spooky stories, and more. The program is free and open to children of all ages and abilities.
The Jocko Valley Library started in the Spring of 1974, with a small group of volunteers collecting donated books from friends and neighbors in the Arlee Valley.
Donovan McDonald is getting closer to his goal of going to Australia for the Down Under Sports Tournaments this summer, but still needs a bit of help. There are two Fundraisers scheduled.
Beginning Salish Language Class
Time: Tuesday and Thursday 6-8pm beginning January 17, 2012
Place: St. Ignatius Elementary NAS Rm
Instructor: Melanie Sandoval
Students will learn basic Salish words and phrases through interactive lessons and games. Students will complete twenty-three lessons in a variety of topic areas such as: greetings, weather, food, actions and descriptions.
A practice workbook, audio CD and Salish Tutor software programs will be included in the class materials.
Jocko Valley Lutheran Church invites you to join us for
the Service of Installation of Pastor Douglas Peterson
on Sunday, January 15th. Festivities begin at 1:00 p.m. with a meal, and the service begins at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome!
I know we just finished with Christmas, but it is already time to start thinking about the 8th Annual Chocolate Lover's Festival which will take place February 9th. It will be held, once again, at the Brown Building in beautiful downtown Arlee.
May all of your dreams come true in 2012. If your New Years Resolution includes being able to use a computer and the internet, then you have come to the right place. Missoula Public Library's W.O.W. bus will continue to visit Arlee every other Wednesday. The bus is offering a free computer class to the public during each visit. Please refer to the events section of each monthly newsletter for details about classes being offered each week.
This will be an abbreviated report as when we returned from Eureka on Saturday night, my managers put the official books someplace and I can’t find them.
The Arlee Warriors wrestling team placed fourth at the Buzz Lucy Invitational Wrestling tournament this past weekend in Eureka. Six of the eight Warrior Wrestlers entered into the tournament came home with medals.
