Arlee Community Theater
The Arlee Community Theater is a volunteer amateur adult theater that has been in existence since 1999 when the High School English teacher, Jerry Parsons, (now retired) launched their first production. ACT functions under the umbrella of the Arlee Schools Adult Education program. In their “day jobs”, this eclectic group of locals work in a wide variety of professions and it is this mix of people and interests that blends ACT into an interesting group of individuals with the proven potential for having a lot of fun!
A few of their favorite productions in the past years have included “Steal Magnolias” ,”The Odd Couple”, and even an original script by Loretta Willoughby. They usually produce one play a year and directors may be quoted as saying “Our options would be much richer if we had a few more good men!”
As well as onstage Actors and Actresses they feel fortunate to include talented community members in the back stage technical crew. Local artists, hairdressers, cooks, seamstresses and others are included in the Community Theater group. Thanks, Arlee Community Theater for working to bring one more cultural outlet to this culturally rich valley.
