Library Internet Access Policy
Jocko Valley Library endeavors to develop collections, resources, and services that meet the cultural, informational, educational, and recreational needs of our community. The Internet, as an information resource, enables the Library to provide information beyond the confines of its own collection. It allows access to ideas, information and commentary from around the globe. It is within this context that the Jocko Valley Library offers access to the Internet.
The Jocko Valley Library does not monitor and has no control over the information accessed through the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its content. The Internet is a global entity with a highly diverse user population. Currently, it is an unregulated medium and may contain material which patrons find inappropriate or offensive. The accuracy of information gained through this source is the responsibility of each originator/producer. Therefore, the Jocko Valley Library does not guarantee the accuracy of information obtained through the Internet.
The Jocko Valley Library does not censor access to materials or protect patrons from Internet-based information which may be found to be offensive. All Internet resources accessible through the Library are provided equally to all Library users. As with other Library materials, restriction of a child's access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.
