Friends of Arlee School

BACKGROUND

Friends of Arlee School is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 from the generous bequest of an anonymous donor. The organization's purpose is to provide supplemental support for projects in the Arlee Public Schools and scholarships for graduating seniors.

The Arlee Joint School District is located at the southern end of the Flathead Indian Reservation and serves approximately 450 students
K through 12. Sixty-two percent of the student population is Native American. According to the districts free and reduced lunch data, approximately 69% of the total student population are impoverished.

MISSION

The mission of the Friends of Arlee School is to support excellence in education of Arlee's children through provision of funds for innovative programs and projects in the schools that could not otherwise be funded.

PROJECTS

The Buttercup Run held in early spring as a fund raiser to support the Friends' projects to raise funds for scholarships given through the Ted Hesse Memorial Scholarship.
Mini Grants available to Arlee School Teachers for purchase of instructional materials and classroom enhancements.
